These ball joints were introduced in early 1966.
Earliest chassis# is 2921552
The ball joint is pressed into the left or right upper trailing arm.
It connects the trailing arm to the spindle. The ball joint passes through
the camber adjustment cam which holds the ball joint to the spindle.
The cam is not included with the ball joint so make sure to save the cam
from your old ball joint. The ball joints are pre-greased and include the
ball joint boot held in place with the upper and lower circlip.

The lower VW Ball Joint fits the left or right side.. The ball joint
is pressed into the left or right lower trailing arm and connects the
trailing arm to the spindle. The ball joints are pre-greased and include
the ball joint boot held in place with the upper and lower circlip.
 

EMPI drop spindles are brand new units, not re-manufactured old cores! CNC machined to exact tolerances. These forged drop spindles feature 1/4" outwards offset. Clearance is usually not an issue. These spindles are the first step to a brake system upgrade while giving you the built-in ability to lower your car an automatic 2 1/2" just by bolting them on. Ball joint spindles require 69-on style outer tie rod ends. Uses original steering geometry so the ride and handling of the car is not negatively effected.
