Important Information
Karmann Ghia Seals are being reproduced by several sources. Rubber formulations and cross section can vary significantly from original quality. We avoid cheap substandard seals; they can lead to problems such as poor fit and premature deterioration.

Karmann Ghia rear window seals come in two types: the Cal Look seal and the American Style seal. The Cal Look seal eliminates the chrome beading. You can observe the solid (no beading) in the rear window seal in the first picture at the top of this page. The American Style Karmann Ghia seal does require that the beading be purchased and installed, or reused from the original rear window seal.

Restoration Tip
The ‘Cal Look’ seals are by far the more popular. They do not have molding grooves and instead have solid rubber outer walls. Old chrome beading can be difficult to re-install and replacements are very expensive. With ‘Cal Look’ seals the moldings are eliminated. There is no quality decrease in using ‘Cal Look’ seals BUT if you are striving for originality then you will need ‘American Style’ seals and the moldings.
