Gas Tanks (Fuel Tanks)

Gas Tank, 10.6 Gallon. OEM Quality
Powder coated semi-gloss black
We have found these tanks superior to Brazilian or Dannish tanks.
Currently Best Available Tank.

VW Beetle Standards only 1968-74*
VW Thing 73-74
VW Karmann Ghia 68-74

*This tank can be used on 1975 and later Standard Beetles but does not have a return line as it was not intended to be used with a fuel injection system. Also the separatley available fuel tap isn't the correct size outlet. The tank will bolt in place correctly, you'll just have to modify the fuel lines. If car has been converted to carburetion, this isn't a major issue with using this tank.
*This tank can also be used for 1968 with modification to the filler neck.

In Karmann Ghia use this tank with our 311-201-219 A
filler neck hose.

Important Information

Protectant sprayed inside of new gas tanks must be cleaned out before tank is used in order to prevent carburetor damage. 1. Isolate gas tank opening with rags and duct tape. 2. Use lacquer thinner (acetone) or carburetor cleaner. 3. Vigorously agitate cleaner by shaking violently. 4. Repeat three or four times, until drained fluid runs clear.
