Protectant sprayed inside of new gas tanks must be cleaned out before tank is used in order to prevent carburetor damage. 1. Isolate gas tank opening with rags and duct tape. 2. Use lacquer thinner (acetone) or carburetor cleaner. 3. Vigorously agitate cleaner by shaking violently. 4. Repeat three or four times, until drained fluid runs clear.
