WARRANTY and RETURNS

Most of our tops carry a warranty for five years against defects in workmanship and in fabric. This is the manufacturer's standard warranty statement. In rare cases where warranty claims are made we facilitate our customer's exchange or refund. We act to provide such service beyond the general specifications of all manufacturer warranty offers. We assign a specific (and identified) person in our company to attend to any customer service issues including warranty claims. Our influence as an industry manufacturer and large warehousing distributor allows us this leverage.

Please note that among the thousands and thousands of tops (make, model, fabric, color, etc.) there are many that are custom made. These are made from original top patterns but are not made in advance like the popular tops. A custom made top may be returned for warranty service, of course. But a "change of mind" on a color or other customer choice will result in a refusal of a return.

Please be certain of fabric, color and of course your car's identification. We will pursue all reasonable avenues to solving any of our customers' problems.

All packages must be inspected upon receipt for correct pattern and vehicle as well as any damages.

Plastic Windows: All Plastic windows are inspected for distortion, discoloration, scratches, and blemishes during the production process. No warranty is offered for these issues after the unit has been installed. Careful examination of the window prior to installation is recommended as no labor credit is available for these issues once installed. UV light and certain atmospheric conditions will degrade the plastic windows and therefore we offer no warranty on plastic windows for any reason, including but not limited to, scratches, cracking discoloration or degradation after the unit is installed.

All return or exchange claims must be made within 30 days. This includes wrong items received. Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of any kind after 30 days.

All items must be returned in the same new condition that they were received.

All returned items, which are not warranty service returns, will carry a 20% restocking fee.

Returned items must be returned with an authorization only. Orders returned without authorization will be refused.

Warranties outlined here are only applicable for products installed by a professional trim shop or professional upholstery shop. For Convertible Tops, and related products, the manufacturer will void the warranty for any product that is not professionally installed; manufacturer defects are covered by the warranty in such cases. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage due to improper installation.

There are about a dozen manufacturers of convertible tops in this country. There is no "Consumer Reports" to rate them and no federal oversight of standards, etc. You have to judge the vendor's experience or go by the advice of their customers.

Warranties cannot be judged by their time duration alone. "Lifetime" warranties which are subject to the escape clauses such as "normal wear and tear excluded" are really sales gimmicks. Our main manufacturers provide a thorough five year warranty. By virtue of our stature in this industry and the volume that we do, we can assure our customers of excellent warranty service in the rare instances that may be required. We stand by our customers, as we have for over thirty years.
