Volkswagen Beetle body molding sets are available in polished aluminum and in stainless steel. Body molding sets are available with the shorter hood molding strip where you will want to place the hood emblem. And they are available with the longer hood molding strip where no emblem will be installed.Note that body molding sets do not come with molding clips or molding clip seals. Those must be ordered separately.
Installing New Molding
The aluminum replacement molding and the stainless steel molding install the same way, into the molding clips which are first installed into their holes in the body of the car. (We recommend the stainless steel moldings as being of sufficiently greater quality and durability compared with the aluminum moldings that the ss increased price is warranted.
You will likely not be able to reuse the old molding clips. They are removed by punching (do not pull/grab) inward. When the hole is exposed test each new clip which must be punched inward without endangering the paint around the molding clip hole. It pays to gently ream each hole to insure that each clip will go in with one bang !
When the new molding clips are all in place you can line up each molding strip and firmly press into place.
New molding, especially stainless steel molding, really enhances the appearance of your Beetle.
